چکیده

The new generation of Synthetic Aperture Radar (RADARSAT-2, TerraSAR-X, ALOS, . . . ) allows us to capture Earth surface images with very high resolution. Therefore the possibility to characterize objects has become more and more attainable. Moreover, the short revisit time propertie of these satellites enables the development of techniques of change detection and their applications. Spherically Invariant Random Vector (SIRV) model was designed specifically for the analysis of heterogeneous clutters in high resolution radar images. In this paper, we propose four algorithms of change detection based on different criteria including: Gaussian (sample covariance matrix estimator), Gaussian (fixed point estimator), Fisher texture-based and KummerUbased (Fisher distributed texture).

Ocean Clutter Modeling for Ship Detection

This work addresses the problem of covariance matrix estimation for ocean clutter modeling. For ship detection based on polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) imagery and constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detectors, accurate ocean clutter modeling is essential. The covariance matrix provides all the polarimetric information of the ocean clutter and its estimate is always involved in PolS...

Estimation of Normalized Coherency Matrix through the Sirv Model. Application to High Resolution Polsar Data

In the context of non-Gaussian polarimetric clutter models, this paper presents an application of the recent advances in the field of Spherically Invariant Random Vectors (SIRV) modelling for coherency matrix estimation in heterogeneous clutter. The complete description of the POLSAR data set is achieved by estimating the span and the normalized coherency independently. The normalized coherency...

[hal-00520566, v1] Roll Invariant Target Detection based on PolSAR Clutter Models

Based on the Kennaugh-Huynen decomposition, the Target Scattering Vector Model (TSVM) allows to extract four rollinvariant parameters. Those parameters are necessary for an unambiguous description of the target scattering mechanism. The proposed method consists in applying the TSVM prior to the GLRT-LQ detector for the detection of any oriented target.

By Definition Undefined: Adventures in Anomaly (and Anomalous Change) Detection

This paper is a personal and purposefully idiosyncratic survey of issues, some technical and some philosophical, that arise in developing algorithms for the detection of anomalies and anomalous changes in hyperspectral imagery. The technical emphasis in anomaly detection is on modeling background clutter. For hyperspectral imagery this is a challenge because there are so many channels (the hype...

Detecting Changes in Fully Polarimetric SAR Imagery with Statistical Information Theory

Images obtained from coherent illumination processes are contaminated with speckle. A prominent example of such imagery systems is the polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR). For such remote sensing tool the speckle interference pattern appears in the form of a positive definite Hermitian matrix, which requires specialized models and makes change detection a hard task. The scaled comple...
